MWC Shanghai 2024: tech talk turns to money talk
This report is available to those subscribed to the Mobile Operators and Networks, Digital Consumer, Fixed, TV and Convergence, Spectrum or IoT & Enterprise modules.
MWC Shanghai 2024 attracted nearly 40,000 attendees and 6,500 companies. Part of the MWC series, the event showcased industry innovation and trends through the lens of China, and Asia more broadly. The growing influence on the telecoms and tech worlds from China and its leading companies was reflected in attendees arriving from 124 countries and 30% of speakers coming from beyond China.
GSMA Intelligence’s engagement across the event spanned summits, sessions and meetings with companies. A key theme across these was the urgency around monetising 5G infrastructure and how that can be done, rather than talking about technology alone.
